1967, First Edition. London: Weidenfeld and Nicolson. Near fine cloth copy with illustrated endpapers in a near-fine, very slightly edge-nicked and dust-dulled dw, now mylar-sleeved. Remains particularly and surprisingly well-preserved overall; tight, bright, clean and strong. Copy previously owned by Vivian Ridler with his uninked embossed personalised stamp to front free endpaper. Vivian Ridler, CBE (2 October 1913-11 January 2009), ex-Faber executive was also a printer, typographer and scholar in Britain.
