Summary; The presentation of photographs in this album will demonstrate and record the achievements of Russian photoreporters on the international press photography arena. The album includes winning photographs, as well as photographs awarded with honorary diplomas and special prizes by the international jury, Photo: Gennady Koposov, 1964, and a total of 450 unique works. What makes The Russian Grand-Prix an exclusive photographic publication is not only the fact that it contains the photographs of 115 great authors, but also that it includes some truly original and unique texts memoirs of events and notable national and international figures of the time. Among them are Dmitri Shostakovich, Leonid Brezhnev, Mikhail Gorbachev, Boris Eltsin, Maya Plisets- kaya, Igor Moiseev, Svyatoslav Fyodorov, Nikolai Amosov, Dmitri Sakharov and many others. These texts were written specially for this album. The album presents, however, not only artistic but also encyclopedic value, as it is the first project of its kind to encompass and give a detailed account of the participation of all Russian authors, as well as members of the professional and childrens juries, in the competition. Another feature of the album is that a large number of the works in it are presented to the reader in the authors original version. The book is a cooperation between Russ Press Photo (curator: Vasily Prudikov) and Schilt Publishing. The original version was published in Russia in 2010, and has been updated for the English edition in 2013.
