1732, First Edition thus. Madrid : En la Imprenta de los Herederos de Francisco del Hierro. Good copies only in contemporary full vellum over stiff cards, now showing considerable wear. Covers dust-toned; spines considerably shadowed, with printed titles marginally legible. Vellum somewhat damp-rippled, with minor tearing and loss to panel edges. Metamorphoseos volume shows a dark stain to the front cover. The same volume has a broken binding after the title page, with the spine cover detached from the text block and pivoting on the rear joint; the rear shows a similar but partial break from the tail following page [11] of the index. Except as noted, the bindings remain strong for their age with stitches holding. Leaves remain clean on the whole, showing only the expected faint foxing or offsetting. A very serviceable set overall. Item #469307
